Syracuse’s International Groceries and Import Markets

Syracuse and Central New York have a long history of welcoming refugees and immigrants and that diversity makes our area a more vibrant, special place to live. One of the many advantages is the bounty of international groceries and import markets available to us.

For the Central New Yorkers who came here from somewhere else, these markets provide a taste of home and allow them to cook familiar cuisine. For others, even just browsing the aisles is a chance to expand our culinary horizons.

The groceries offer spices, fresh herbs and produce, rices, pastas, beans, baked goods, coffees and teas, and prepared and frozen foods – some of which you won’t be able to find anywhere else. From small Northside neighborhood spots to larger grocery store-style stops, here are 20 markets in the Syracuse area to check out.
